Tomorrow's Teacher Scholarship

Kansas State University Tomorrow's Teacher Scholarship recipients will receive a cash award of $2,500 for each school year. The scholarship is intended to help defray the cost of tuition and books. For the 2006-2007 school year, estimated costs for student enrolling in 15 credit hours of course work are shown as follows:

Tuition: - $5,779
Books: - $900-$1,100

In the event that any portion of the cash award is not needed for tuition or books, it may be used by the recipient for housing and other living expenses.

Steve Harper Memorial ScholarshipThe Steve Harper  Memorial Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship for graduating seniors pursuing a photography or natural resources curriculum.  The scholarship is awarded based on current/past involvement in natural resources or photography, strength of application , academic performance and financial need.  Applications are available in the counselor's office.
Wichita Breakfast Optimist Club ScholarshipOpen to Sedgwick County residents only.  This scholarship may be used to pursue a higher level of education at any accredited junior college, college, university, licensed business school, or trade school. The Forget Me Not Scholarship FundThe Forget Me Not Scholarship Fund was created in 2002 for the purpose of enabling young men and women in the State of Kansas to enroll in an accredited college, university, seminary, junior college or vocational technical college in the United States. Two scholarships are awarded annually: (1) to a high school senior graduating from an accredited high school in the State of Kansas, and (2) to a high school senior graduating from high schools in Cimarron, Dodge City, Pratt, Bishop Carroll (Wichita) and Kapaun/Mount Carmel (Wichita  Apply online at http://www.wichitacf.org/scholarships/forgetmenot-online-form.html
The Russ and Helen Meyer Scholarship Fund

Established in 1996, post-high school scholarships are given annually with a first preference to graduating seniors from each Metro alternative school in the Wichita area regardless of grade point average. Second preference shall be given to graduating seniors within the USD259 public school system in the Wichita KS area who are not commonly eligible for other scholarship opportunities. No preferences shall apply in the selection of recipients from primary or secondary schools for attendance at an accredited public, private or parochial school of their choice.

Annual awards are $6,000 and scholarships may be renewed, at the discretion of the Wichita Community Foundation, if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress (a C average), successfully completes at least twelve credit hours per semester (college level) and provides a letter of personal enrichment to the Foundation office upon the completion of each semester

Senator Robert J. Dole Public Service Scholarship Program

The Senator Robert J. Dole Public Service Scholarship Program has been established to recognize students who have demonstrated involvement in volunteer community and public service. The recipients will be encouraged to pursue study and ongoing involvement in the area of public service. Drawing upon the spirit and experience of Senator Dole’s career, the Dole Scholarship will emphasize public service-improving the public service capacities of public officials and helping students understand the challenges and rewards of public life.


Applicants to the Senator Robert J. Dole Public Service Scholarship Program must -

  • Be high school seniors who will graduate in 2008 from an accredited public or private high school in Kansas.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrate significant involvement in volunteer community service projects or public service activities.
  • Plan to enroll no later than fall 2008 in a full-time* undergraduate course of study at a Kansas Regents’ University** or Washburn University.

Songs of KansasThe Kansas State Board of Regents is offering scholarships to students planning on attending one of the six Kansas Regents colleges.  These are for either vocal or instrumental musicians. Applications are available in the counselor's office.
Soroptomist/Olive Ann Beech Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship funds are awarded annually to students attending the Wichita Area Technical College with preference given to adult women who are endeavoring to acquire a career which will benefit themselves and others who may depend upon them. Consideration is given to economic need, potential for success, personal diligence and academic achievement. Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the office of the Counselor at the Wichita Area Technical College for application forms

All Foundation scholarship applications are due in our office by March 15 each year. If this date falls on a weekend, the due date falls to the next regular business day.

Wichita Alumnae Panhellenic 2008 Scholarship InformationWichita Alumnae Panhellenic scholarships are designed to encourage young women to investigate sorority life.  2008 high school Senior women who are outstanding in scholarship, leadership, service and activities are encouraged to apply.  These scholarships are for seniors interested in joining sororities at the college of their choice.  Four $500 scholarships will be given out.  For more information or an application please visit the counselor's office or call Susan Arnold at 316-683-8178.
Wichita WagonmastersThe Wichita Wagonmaster's scholarship is an unrestricted general scholarship for any student attending a Kansas College or University. The scholarship is a one time payment of $5,000 made directly to the Kansas school of your choice.  Applications can be picked up in the counselor's office or downloaded here.
