At last week's meeting of the Kansas State Board of Education, 20 additional hours were approved for Professional Development in recognition of the extra work load being placed on classroom teachers, as well as the fact most districts front-loaded the bulk of PD on the school calendar.

At last night's Cheney Board of Education meeting, the BOE approved January 5, February 12 and March 5 to be Professional Development and no student contact days.

These days may be used for:

Staff Development
P/T Conference
Assistance for Teachers
Planning and Delivery

We are appreciative of the support from the State Board of Education as well as our always supportive local Board of Education in providing this assistance to our staff as we navigate full time remote learners, on site learners and partial remote learners in and out of quarantine. This will be a great asset for our teachers to improve instruction for your child.
