As the new principal at Cheney Elementary I am very excited to be here and welcome everyone to the 2023-2024 school year. I am overwhelmed with joy that I am a part of such a great school system and supportive community. Whenever I start a new school year I find myself anticipating all of the fun and thrilling events that tie into a school year. Some may become anxious at this huge feat, yet to me I know that everyday is a different day at school and I find that both intriguing and challenging at the same time. That is why I decided to go into education, and I want to pass that same love of school onto my students in my building as well. All the teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a welcoming and caring environment for every child. We know that it is imperative for children to feel safe, secure, and cared for in order for them to achieve their academic goals.

We at CES know that we cannot have a successful school year without parental support in all of our activities that our students are involved in. I enjoy seeing parents attending assemblies, going on fieldtrips, and helping the teachers for class parties. Without you, our students would not reach the high standards that we set here at Cheney Elementary. We are all on the same “team,” because we all have the same goal of individual student achievement. When students know that they have numerous people in their corner wanting them to succeed, they will exceed our expectations.  

The 2023-2024 school year will be a special one. It will be filled with fun, a lot of learning, and more importantly, memories.  Let’s make this year extraordinary and know that we are all so fortunate to be at such an exceptional school as CES.
