Join us in Cheney for the Run to Cheney and the Sedgwick County Fair on Saturday, July 13! The 5K race begins at 8:00am and the 1 mile run begins at 9:00am. Complete this form with payment to guarantee your Run to Cheney shirt and registration in the race.
You must complete a new form for each participant, but only need to click the pay link on the final entry. For example, if registering 3 runners, complete the form 3 times. Click the pay link on the final entry and then pay for three entries. Each entry is $20.
Pre-registration is due July 5. Sign ups will be taken after the 5th, and some extra shirts will be available, but a shirt is not guaranteed. All proceeds benefit the Cheney Alumni Association for their annual scholarship to graduating Seniors at Cheney High School.

We are excited to announce that Kaylee Watson, CES Music Teacher, and Morgan Fiscus, USD268 Treasurer, have been selected as the March Staff Spotlight recipients. They both exude excellence and perform their jobs with the utmost care. We are proud to have them as members of the Cardinal Team. Congratulations!!


USD 268 would like to welcome Mr. Claar to our district.
Mr. Claar stated he is honored and blessed to be selected to be the next principal at Cheney Middle School and to be able to serve our students, teachers, staff, and the entire school community. He began teaching 32 years ago after graduating from Fort Hays State with a B.A. in history. Over the course of his teaching career he taught secondary social studies and coached at Dodge City Middle and Dodge City High School, Stockton High School, Neodesha Middle School and Neodesha High School and Independence High School.
In 2014, he graduated from Pittsburg State with an M.S. in Educational Leadership and accepted his first administrative position as assistant principal at Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville. In 2019, his family relocated to Andover, and he became the assistant principal at El Dorado Middle School. In 2021 he was given the opportunity to return to Coffeyville as the principal of Roosevelt Middle School and has served in that role for the past three years.
Mr. Claar has two children; his daughter Taygan will graduate from Wichita State this spring and plans to attend pharmacy school. His son Tommy will graduate from Andover Central and will attend Butler County next fall. Mr. Claar's mother, Judy Claar (Bolinger), and several aunts, uncles, and cousins live in Cheney.
Mr. Claar states that he is looking forward to this amazing opportunity.
